“Run! Get out of here! Go!”
“No! Don’t leave me! Big brother!”
“Go! I’ll be right behind you!”
“Ahhhh! Big brother behind you!”
“Shi----!!”
“No!"
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*The Present Time~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The world is at its end and what can I say more about that anyways. It happens, just in the matter of time. Corrupted humans blaming one another for their own idiotic doings, accusing one another of such disaster to happened. Now no one can blame them because now...Everyone is dead, well not technically everyone. The people who still survived the apocalyptic virus infection fought for their lives now and then to admit they really survive living their lives. Me? I’m just the same as them. Fighting for survival to live another day.
What was used to be my glorious hometown, the City of Cats is now abandon and hollow? Dead to me, leaving only pieces of memories wherever I went. Because of that deadly infectious virus that had stricken my city, everyone I knew is gone. Now, only their hollow, soulless bodies wondering the dead streets searching for new hosts and living humans also known food to their ‘dead’ brains.
I wondered in the empty streets along with a red metallic bat in left hand as I turned my direction and went into a convenient store, pushing the door open with my other hand. The store looked chaotic as the food cans, packages were everywhere lying on the floor. The people must have been in a hurry to get what they needed I thought and walked along the messy shelves to search for food. Hell, I am so hungry right now that I could even maybe turn into a cannibal myself without getting infected with the virus. But I’m not taking any chances unless needed to.
While I was searching for my favourite canned soup, something gently nudged my lower back making me tensed up. Taking it as a threat, I tightly grip onto my bat and swing the bat as hard as I might as I turned but only to be stopped by a clawed hand. The thing is hideous, its face was hidden by the dark shadow cast from the oversize worn out hoodie which it is wearing, making only its sharp dagger like bloodied teeth shows as it growls lowly to me. Oh hell, I am so much in trouble right now.
The creature growls low and hisses more to my face as it pulls my bat off from my hand and goes nearer to my face. Smelling its breath is not a laughing gag because it stinks like hell. God, what the hell did this thing eat before meeting me by some kind of chance.
“U-Umm...A-Am I in t-trouble?” I lowly stutter to the creature. Hearing it growls more loudly, I take it as a ‘yes’ and stare at it with a frightening expression.
The creature growls and hisses more as it pulls out something from one of its pocket pants and held out its hand to me. Looking at the device it offering it seems to look like an ordinary earphone plugs strap to some kind of microchip. Weird but...Okay?
The creature somehow insists me to take it as it growls and hisses more. Without arguing, I cautiously take the device and wears it as I could hear a soft buzzing coming from the microchip. What is thing trying to tell me and why isn’t it trying to eat me or attack me already like the rest of its kind!
The creature tilts its head and growls deeply as I somehow could hear someone’s voice talking to me. A man voice might I added to your liking.
“Y---F----Finally! I found you, you idiot!” the voice shouted in my ears. Where in the world! Is this a recording!?
I turned my head quickly to find whose voice was it because I know or knew who’d it belonged to. It belonged to my dear brother. But it can’t be him! No! This isn’t making any sense to me at all!
“B-Big brother? I-Is that you? H-How am I---”
“Surprised? I know...It’s okay now. I’m here.”
“Here!?” I echoed him and snorted.
“Excuse me but I got a Hunter sticking up to my face here, thank you very much. Yeah right. ‘I’m here’...Don’t lie....Please...” I murmur as dark memories overflow me, making me remember the day I saw my brother being attacked to death by those things just so he could save me.
The creature in front of me starts to whimper as stands to my tall and gently place its clawed hand onto my head like my brother used to do.
“I’m sorry for leaving you all alone dear sister...” the voice speaks only now in a sad tone.
I could only reply it with silence until I noticed the Hunter was close enough to me and patted me on my head gently. What the hell!? Jumping back from its action, I stared at the Hunter with wide eyes as I slowly backed away from it.
“B-Big brother...I-Is that...Y-You’re...A...A...H-H---”
“Hunter? Sadly am.” replies the voice quickly as I look at the Hunter as it crouch down to its crawling position and crawls slowly to me as it drags my bat with its mouth. Placing it down just right in front of me and growls short but deep making me hear my brother’s voice again now saying “Take this.”
Following his command, I take the bat in my hand and stare at the Hunter for a moment before attacking it with my mighty hug attack. The Hunter squirms in my hold as I bury my face in its worn and stinky hoodie.
“I’ve missed you, big brother...”
“Missed you too fuzzball.” my brother said to me as he hugs me back gently with his clawed hands.

RING!
RING! RING!
Airin groans as she tosses and turns on
her bed, mumbling and cursing the sudden annoying sound that awoke her from her
nightmare.
RING!
RING! RING!
She grumbles and reaches out for her
cell phone and tosses it away, landing somewhere on the floor.
RING!
RING! RING!
“Ouch! My bloody head!” yell someone
underneath.
RING!
RING! RING!
Airin could now hear grumbling and
shuffling from a sheet, just below her.
“Manda…What is it…Do you know what time
it is…” says a hoarse voice lazily.
“Yeah, I know! BUT SOMEONE THREW A DARN
PHONE ON MY BLOODY HEAD!” shouts Manda continuously as she places the cell
phone on a nearby desk.
“Alright just settle down, Airin is
still sleeping… And in fact, why didn’t she wake up when she heard the ringing
sound anyway?” says Hannah calmly while making an ‘hmm’ sound.
“Maybe she’s like…Dead? You know some
sleepers are dead.” replies Manda.
“. . . Let’s…Just…Wake her up, its
morning now.” mumbles Hannah as she stands on the mattress and gently shake
Airin’s body to waken her up.
“Airin… Oh, Airin. Wake up sleepy head.”
state Hannah as she keeps shaking Airin.
“Hnng… Don’t want to…” mutter Airin
tiredly as Hannah could hear Airin yawning from underneath her blanket.
‘Don’t want to wake up, do we? I’ll make
you wake up.’ thought Hannah evilly as she grabs the blanket by the hand and
pulls it away from Airin’s possession, revealing Airin’s body, curving itself
uptight to warm herself from the sudden cool breeze that is being blown to her.
Hannah drops the blanket onto the floor
and sits on Airin’s bed as she pokes her slightly on the ankle.
“Wake up! Its morning, you lazy cat.”
groans Hannah as she pulls out Airin’s hands and drags her off from her comfy
bed.
Airin only grunt as she opens up her
heavy eyelids, waving her hands in defeat as she lazily stands up on the floor
while scratching on her messy hair.
“Okay, okay. I’m up… Lord, do you always
like to be a human alarm clock sometimes?” laughs Airin as she grabs her pink
bathrobe and a blue towel from the wardrobe.
“No! I did that because you were the
only one who didn’t waken up in this room yet.” pout Hannah as she cross hands
to her chest and glare at Airin from the back.
“Alright, I’m sorry. Have you both
showered already?” ask Airin as she takes another two extras towel from the
wardrobe before shutting it close.
“No, not yet.” replies Manda as she
yawns lazily.
“Here is your towels then.” giggle Airin
as she hands out the towel to her friends.
“So…Where’s the bathroom…?” ask Hannah
blinking.
“Uh…Walk straight and turn left.”
replies Airin nodding as she points to the direction after opening the door.
“Thank you~” says Hannah smiling as she
walks out from the room to the bathroom as the hallway floor creeks from her
movement.
Airin nod and looks back to Manda, who
keeps yawning continuously.
“Manda is there anything you need…?” ask
Airin politely as she smiles.
“Uh… No, I think not. I’m just a bit
tired from yesterday’s night, that’s all.” says Manda while yawning lazily like
a lazy cat.
“Well, if there is nothing you needed…
Could you… Step out for a moment so I could… Take off these clothes?” ask Airin
doubly as she blink like an innocent child.
“OH! I’m sorry, I didn’t notice that a
bit. Sure, I’ll wait outside.” replies Manda quickly with a smile as she walks
out from the room and closes the door behind her.
‘Okay, this morning is getting awkward…’
thought Airin as she takes off her clothes and puts on her pink bathrobe, tying
the robe laces into a ribbon.
She then takes her towel and wraps it
around her neck like a scarf and walks out from the room as she opens the door.
“You could change now, while waiting for
Hannah to finish her shower.” says Airin to Manda as she walks downstairs.
“Oh, okay. Thanks for lending me your
towel, Ai.” replies Manda as she quickly walks into the room and closes the
door with a thud.

“Good morning, Angela.” says Lydia as
she walks in into the kitchen.
“Morning, Lydia. Would you care for a
cup of coffee?” ask Angela as she wipes off her hands clean with the clean
cloth and takes a clean cup from the cupboard.
“Of course.” replies Lydia smiling as
she takes a seat on the dining chair.
Angela then pours some hot coffee into
the cup and serves it to Lydia, placing it in front of her on the dining table.
“Thank you, friend.” thank Lydia smiling
as she sips some coffee from the cup, and place it back on the plate.
Hearing someone running down the stairs,
both Angela and Lydia glance at the kitchen entrance to see who it is.
Running into the kitchen, Airin, Manda
and Hannah quickly take their seats on the empty chairs as they giggle and
laugh.
“Morning girls would you like some
breakfast?” ask Angela smiling to them three.
“Yes please~!” replies the three of
them, still giggling and laughing.
“What would you like?”
“Oh! I want a cheese pancakes!” says Airin
as she waves up her hand like a child.
“French toast please.” says both Manda and
Hannah smiling.
“Alright ladies, sit tight for a moment while
I make you some breakfast.” replies Angela kindly.
“Okay~!” says them three altogether.
“Do you want to continue to play the game
again?” ask Airin as she pours herself a cup of hot coffee.
“Uh… Maybe. . . Later?” reply Manda doubly
as she smile nervously towards Airin.
Airin just hum as a reply and pour some coffee
from her friends after she fetch two clean cups from the cupboard.
“You mad…?” ask Manda innocently.
“No of course not, why should I be mad to
my dear friends?” reply Airin smiling as she sits back on her seat.
“Well… Sorry, but the game just... Freaks
me out from the atmosphere and… More…” says Manda doubly and truthfully.
“Oh, that’s okay, Manda. Everyone get scares
sometimes.” Airin laughs lightly as she continues to sip on her coffee drink.
“Here you go girls, fresh from the oven.”
says Angela as she places 3 plates on the dining table.
“Mmm, smells lovely.” says the three of them.
“Eat up now before it turns cold.” says Angela
more as she wipes her hands clean with a clean cloth.
“ITADAKIMASU!” shouts the three as they take
the spoon and the fork, and then starts to gobble up their breakfast like starving
animals.
“My goodness, it seems that they are hungry
that I thought.” laughs Lydia as Angela just shakes her head chuckles.
“Mmm, this is good! Mom’s pancakes are the
best of them all!” says Airin while her mouth is still full.
“Now now Airin, you know the rules while
eating. No talking while your mouth is still full.” chuckles Angela as she sips
some of her coffee and pours some more in.
Airin just smiles and continues to eat beside
her friends, enjoying their delicious breakfast while is still last.

“Are you ready, guys?” ask Airin as she
places both of her hands onto the wooden door.
Both Manda and Hannah nod as they ready
their weapons in their hands to attack any monsters that want to jump out.
Airin then nods back as she begins to push the enormous door with all of her
might. The door creaks an eerily sound as it breaks the silent of the dark
hallway.
Airin’s heartbeat begins to beat faster
as she feels an eerie feeling coming from beyond the door she had open. She
shakes her head and tries to control her breathing to calm it down as she
begins to walk into the hall of the darkness once more with only her comrades
to accompany her from behind.
While shining her flashlight through the dark
hallway, Hannah and Manda look around the empty and dusty hall.
“They really do need to re-decorate this
room, no…This house!” whispers Manda from behind as she looks around and passes
by the unclean glass windows beside her.
“You still have time to comment on this
freaking place!?” replies Hannah beside her in a whisper tone.
Manda only nod and they both smile, but
for Airin there is nothing to smile about until she finds something.
Looking to her side, Airin sees a big
crafted portrait hanging onto the decayed wall. She stops for a moment and
stares at the old and dusty portrait. Walking a little bit closer to it, she
could feel something from the portrait. Instantly, she grabs her pocket knife
and slashes the portrait to pieces as she unconsciously wickedly smiles to what
she had done.
Her friends from behind stop their
steps, as they both watch Airin’s un-normal state of mind taking control of her
action for the first time. Manda tries to call Airin’s name to see if she is
alright but got stop by Hannah as she shush her down while shaking her head.
Both of them could only stare as they
watch Airin pull something out from the portrait, a skull that still have a bit
flesh stuck to its bone.
Manda could almost feel that something
is wrong with the place, and they should be getting out from this place as
quick as they can before it is too late!
Airin stare at the skull as she feels
the texture of the rotten flesh with her finger tips. She lifts an eyebrow and
devilishly smirks, and then slightly turns her head to both of her friends that
are now sweating like mad as they both ready their weapons in their hands
waiting for a sudden attack from their own friend, which is Airin!
“S-Stay back!” quivers Manda as she
steps a foot back, readying her weapon as she grips it tightly in her hands.
Airin only chuckles and shakes her head
in disbelief. She sighs and asks her friends to come over to her.
“I’m not going to bite your flesh…Heads
off!” says Airin doubly as she laughs lightly.
“Yeah right, like we’ll believe that
word.” replies Hannah as she pouts like a small child while standing next to
Manda.
“Look what I found, flesh…And it still
feels fresh. It rhythms!” laughs Airin once again as she toss the skull to
Manda’s hands, making Manda jump and lets go off the skull, making it drop down
to the wooden floor and rolls to Airin’s boot.
“That’s
not funny, Ai!” mumbles Manda as she cross her hands to her chest and pouts.
“Aw, don’t be mad you two! I mean come
on, I was just only joking.” says Airin as she grabs the skull from the floor
and hold it firmly on her hand.
“Yeah right, a joke that almost made us
wanting to kill you!” grumbles Hannah while crossing her hands to her chest.
“Maybe one day or another~” sings Airin
softly as she walks away with the skull in her hand.
“Hey wait up!” shouts both of them as
they jog from behind.
Airin continues to walk on her pace as
she thinks about the wound on her character’s arm, imagining what she would
might do if her character losses control and goes rampage towards her friends.
‘What am I going to do!?’ thought Airin
as she shuts her eyes for a while walking down the hall, leaving her friends
behind.
“Is Airin, okay?” ask Manda as she
whispers to Hannah, getting an answer from only a shrug of a shoulder in
return.
She sighs and shakes her head in
disbelief as they both continue to follow Airin from behind, not wanting to
bother her or worse…Madden her up.
Airin stops as she looks to her left and
then to her right. Both of the halls are dark only silent fill the atmosphere.
She stares at the darkness for a while, suddenly feeling fear covering her mind
as she starts to imagine what’s going to pop out from the darkness. Her
heartbeat begins to beat faster again, gripping tightly onto her weapon she
begins to walk into the darkness on her own.
Hannah and Manda quicken their pace,
panicking as they both watch Airin’s character disappear into the darkness in
front of their own very eyes.
“W-Wha, w-where did she went off?!”
screams Manda in panic as she runs towards to the dark hall.
“M-Manda wait!” shouts Hannah as she
quicken her pace trying to catch up with Manda from behind, not wanting to be
left alone in this dark and eerie mansion. She then slows down as she sees
Manda sudden stop on the middle of the hall looking to the left and then to the
right hastily.
“Hey.” says Hannah as she places her
hand gently on Manda shoulder to calm her down. “Don’t worry, we’ll find her…”
says Hannah again as she now stands beside Manda and weakly smiles to her.
Manda only heavily sigh and scratch the
back of her head gently. “Why does she have to leave us in this creepy
mansion…” mumble Manda as she shines her flashlight to both dark separate
halls.
“I don’t know, but maybe we can separate
and—” and got cut off by Manda with her massive worries and questions that just
sudden struck her right in the head.
“And one of us somehow will die if we
separate in those dark halls! I don’t trust this mansion, Hannah. Maybe we can
get lost or worse! Eaten by the dead people who came back to life!” shouts
Manda in frustration as she huffs for air and stays quiet for a moment to hear
a reply from Hannah.
Hannah only stays quiet and slowly takes
a deep breath as she breathes it all out to clear her mind and trying to
lessening her anger a bit before the situation goes out of control.
“Alright listen here Manda, if you’re
afraid of going alone just activate your communication device and call me for
help if anything happens to you. I’ll be there as soon as I can to reach your
location, alright?” says Hannah gently as she smiles while tapping on Manda’s
shoulder few times to spirit her up.
Manda look down the floor for awhile and
looks back up to Hannah’s smiling face. She agrees to it as she nods for an
answer.
“Alright, let’s go then.” says Hannah as
she flicks on her pocket flashlight and shines it to the dark opposite hallway
from Manda.
“If one of us found her or something
interesting, give it a shout, alright?” says Manda with her usual voice as she
switch back on her communication device and tightly grip on her weapon.
“Alright, move out.” mumbles Manda under her breath as she starts to walk
opposite way from Hannah.
“Good luck~” replies Hannah as she too
begins to walk to the opposite site away from Manda, into the darkness without
any companion except for her flashlight and her weapon, a golf club and a
pocket knife just in case.

“I…I…I don’t know anymore…” she utter
quietly under her breath, staring at her fresh wound feeling it burns like an
acid.
She takes out some bandages and wraps it
tightly around her wound, tapping her foot in a rhythm to ease the pain from
her mind. She then takes out the item that she found and hand it to Manda.
“Here, take this. I don’t want my
inventory to get full.” mumble Airin as she drops the key onto Manda’s palm.
“Wha, but why me?” ask Manda as she
turns her look to Airin with a puzzled face.
“Um, you’re a responsible just like
everyone else…So um, I don’t know…Maybe you can keep that thing safe? No?”
replies Airin doubly while looking up at the ceiling.
Silent then again fills the room as only
eyes stares at each other for a moment. The ceiling suddenly begins to crack as
the room shakes fiercely.
“What’s happening!?” shouts Hannah as
she quickly protects her head with her arms.
“I don’t know, but the only thing I know
is if we don’t get out from here RIGHT NOW WE WILL DIE FOR SURE!” replies Manda
shouting back as she runs to the door and opens it quickly.
“Quickly now!” shouts Manda from across
the room, holding the door open as her face shows panic and worry.
Hannah quickly runs to the exit as Airin
follows from behind, screaming like a child in a playground.
After the room is clear, Manda quickly
closes the door behind Airin as she leans back behind the old wooden door.
“What…Was that!?” ask Manda while
huffing out for air around her.
“Well…I…Don’t know but this game is
getting crazier than before!” replies Airin, shaking her head gently and pats
off the dust from her dark color clothes.
“Why do you always wear black?” huff
Hannah out, pointing to Airin while she stills patting off the dust on her
black jeans.
“Huh me?” says Airin as she stops what
she’s doing and point out to herself in the face.
“Yes you! Who else wears fully black in
here!” grumbles Hannah as she cross both of her arms.
“…Um…Because black…Is my favorite
color?” shrugs Airin while staring at Hannah.
“Yeah…Okay…I—“Hannah is then cut off by
Manda that is waving her hands to get their attention.
“Sorry guys but I think we should keep
on moving.” suggest Manda as she takes the lead and walk towards to the main
locked wooden door.
Airin and Hannah only stare at each
other for a moment and begin to follow Manda from behind, looking around the
corridor to see if there is something useful that she could find.
Stopping at the enormous wooden door,
Manda takes out the item that Airin had give her earlier. She then puts the
item into the keyhole and turns the item clockwise; suddenly hearing a clicking
sound from the lock Manda turns her head to her friends and smile.
“Yes! We did it!” jumps out Hannah with
excitement, celebrating the tiny victory after the long search for the key to
the locked door. It is finally over and they can finally pass through.

“I wonder what are they doing right now
until they scream like that.” says Angela shaking her head while sipping some
warm tea.
“Oh you know kids these days, they
always play with a scream.” laughs Lydia while eating some biscuits.
“It’s almost 6.15 in the evening, let
start making them dinner.” smiles Angela as she drinks her tea until the final
drop and washes the cup that she uses, then put it on the plastic rack next to
her on the sink.
“Hmm…Today’s menu is…?” ask Lydia while
finishing the biscuits quickly and cleans the table.
“I think we should cook their favorite
meals.” smiles Angela and takes out the cutting board from the cupboard beneath
the sink.
“Yes, I think that a splendid idea!”
replies Lydia smiling back towards Angela.
Both of the women then start to heat up
the kitchen as they try their best on cooking their husbands and children
favorite food, making a little bit of a mess to the kitchen.

“Hey dad, have you seen Snow?” ask Zack,
crouching down on the floor while holding a small pillow that fills with
catnip.
“Snow? Hmm…I think she’s sleeping.”
replies Michael casually while reading the newspaper about the recent news.
Zack only replies with a hum as he lands
himself on the couch, making it creeks from the sudden weight.
‘God, I’m so bored!’ thought Zack
quietly as he changes the TV channel by pushing the buttons on the TV remote.
Walking in into the TV room, Zurl stare
at the TV and back to Zack’s boring face.
“Nothing new?” ask Zurl while stretching
himself up from a good exercise.
“It seems so…” sighs Zack, taking out
his cell phone to check the new inbox message that he had receive awhile ago.
“Where’s Rin?” ask Zurl again, sitting
on the couch across Zack’s.
“She’s in her room playing games with
her friends.” replies Zack casually while only looking at the text message as
he replies it.
“Friends?” says Zurl out loud as he
looks up at the stairs.
“Yup…” mumble Zack and continues to
watch the TV.
“Any food?” ask Zurl while staring at
the TV.
“Snacks you mean? Yeah, here.” replies
Zack, handing out a big orange container to Zurl.
“Oreo?”
“Yeah…”
“. . .” Zurl only eats it up with a bit
without saying another word.
“Boys, dinner is almost ready. Call out
your sister would you?” shouts Angela while preparing the dishes with Lydia in
the kitchen.
“Alright, I’m starving here!” says Zurl,
rubbing his empty belly as he groans from stretching himself out again.
“Yeah…And don’t forget about Rin.” says
Zack casually, smirking.
“…You call her.” Zurl says out
protesting, crossing his muscular arms to his chest.
“Me? I thought you love seeing beautiful
ladies…” replies Zack, now smirking widely.
“She has lady friends? Are they hot?”
ask Zurl, eyeing on Zack’s expression.
“Check them out yourself.” chuckles Zack
lowly like a whisper as he blinks twice.
“…Right…” only reply Zurl as he stands
up and climbs up the stairs, heading straight to Airin’s closed room.
Stopping in front of Airin’s room, Zurl
takes a deep breath and knocks the door like a gentleman he is. He then slowly
opens the door as the door creeks, making Airin pause her game play.
“Yes?” says Airin out loud while holding
out her hand.
“Yeah, um mom asks me to tell you that
dinner’s ready. Why not invite your friends too, they look hungry.” chuckles
Zurl as he closed back the door.
“Dinner!?” both Hannah and Manda says
out.
“How…What time is it!?” shouts Manda out
loud in terror as she shakes Airin’s body back and forth.
“I um…It’s almost 7.00pm?” replies Airin
doubly, gazing at her wall clock behind Manda’s head.
“7.00pm!?” both Hannah and Manda shouts
again making Airin’s soul almost jump out from her vessel. She quickly covers
her ears with both of her free hands while staring at her friends, still
smiling innocently like a little child she is.
“So…I bet you guys want to stay for
dinner?” says Airin casually, after the atmosphere went quiet for a moment
after the scream.
“. . .” Manda only place her hand on her
face as she sighs loudly in the now quite room.
“Sure…I guess…” says Hannah while only
stare at Manda’s distress face.
“Don’t worry, Manda. I’ll call your
parents and said that both of you are having a slumber party at my house.”
replies Airin with a big sincere smile, trying to cheer up both of her friends
up from the misery.
“You’ll do that?” utter Manda softly
under her breath like a whisper.
“Yes, anything for my dear friends.”
replies back Airin, now smiling widely like a Cheshire cat.
“Oh thank you, Ai!! We owe you our
lives!” says Manda as she runs to Airin and hugs her tightly like a teddy bear.
“I never knew you are soft…” laughs
Airin out as she tickles her friend’s belly.
“C-cut it out!” laughs Manda as she
lands on the floor, laughing from the tickle.
Airin nod happily and help Manda up as
she cleans herself off from the dust.
“Let’s go downstairs.” says Airin as she
opens the door and holds it, waiting for her friends to walk out from the room.
Closing the door after Hannah walk out,
she leads the way to the kitchen as her friends follow her from behind.
“Sorry if we cause you so much trouble.”
mumble Manda as she just stares at Airin’s hair.
“That’s fine. Besides, we don’t get
visitors so often.” says Airin casually, smirking.
“That sounds creepy…” laughs Hannah from
behind.
“Yup~” only replies Airin nodding her
head, agreeing to her friend’s words.
Popping her head out to the kitchen’s
door, Airin stare at her mother and aunt, grinning. She then jumps out from her
position, roaring like a monster and smiles innocently making Lydia gasp from
the sudden noise.
Holding her chest and rubs it gently,
Lydia smiles and laugh. “Oh dear, I thought a monster just crushed the roof and
wanted to eat me.”
“Hehehe, mom can my friends stay for
slumber party?” ask Airin, looking at her mother with her begging and innocent
eyes.
“Sure, your friends are welcome to stay.
Do they have the approval from their own parents?” says Angela while wiping her
wet hands with a clean cloth beside the refrigerator.
“Um…We’re getting to that part, ehe…”
replies Airin doubly, making a weird smile on her face to conform it.
Angela only shakes her head and smile
warmly to her daughter. “Alright then, you can use my cell phone if you want. It’s
in my handbag.”
“I’ll just use the home phone, much more
cheaper.” says Airin smiling to her mother as she walks out from the kitchen to
her friends.
“Alright guys, we are good to go. Let’s move
to our next station, that is the phone!” says Airin, pointing out to the sky like
a cartoon character.
Hannah only shakes her head while Manda laughs
at Airin’s childish action.

Chapter 11: Unknown Friend
“Hey guys! Over
here.” shouts Airin as she waves both of her hands up high to the sky.
Airin quickly
jog to them not wanting to waste time as she huff a little for air.
“Well, you look
better than the usual. How’d you been?” ask Hannah smiling as she gives Airin a
hug.
“It has been so
long, I miss you very much! Don’t leave us again please!” plead Airin, hugging
on Hannah’s arm not wanting to let go.
“Hmm, it is
still school holiday. So…I won’t~!” replies Hannah as she pats Airin on her
head.
“Yey!” all the
other three shout as they all laugh and continue to walk.
“So, where are
we going?” ask Jeanne, looking besides her seeing Manda thinking on something.
“Well…How about
the public park? It’s just a few meters away from here.” replies Airin as she
points out the direction.
“Of course~”
says Manda out as she throws her hands up to the sky and smiles at Airin.
“Well? What are
we waiting for? Let’s go!” shouts Hannah as she throws her fist to the sky and
run.
“…Wow, she’s in
a high spirit today.” laughs Airin as she tries to catch up with Hannah from
behind. “Hannah, wait up!” waves Airin from behind.
Hannah stops for
a moment and laugh, seeing Airin running for the first time.
“I never thought
you were an athletic.” says Hannah patting on Airin’s shoulder.
“I had too,
because of our Softball coach. Fuuu…Okay, let’s go…Again~!” says Airin as she
starts to jog.
“Okay, let’s
just walk. Our members are falling behind.” says Hannah as she walks backwards
and turns back to the front.
“Okay…” utter
Airin under her shallow breath as she puts out a thumb up to her friends that
have fallen behind.
“Jeez, Airin
sure can run.” says Jeanne as she walks slowly with Manda, looking aside her
for any cars that wanting to pass them by.
“When it was the
School’s Sports Day, she won’t participate in any competitions. Heh, she sure
has a hidden talent.” laughs Manda, checking on her cell phone for any
messages.
“Yeah, but she
did participate in a running marathon. We both lose but still Airin laugh
because she still receives a medal for her effort.” replies Jeanne again,
nodding.
~*~
“We’re here~!”
shouts Airin as she quickly walks through the park’s entrance and stop at the
centre of the track, waiting for her friends to catch up their breaths.
“God, my legs
are bloody sore from the running!” mumbles Jeanne as she slowly walks to Airin.
“Don’t you dare
run again!” shouts Jeanne to Airin’s ear, making Airin close both of her ears.
Jeanne then shakes Airin’s shoulder as hard as she could to relief herself out.
“Hey, don’t do
that to Airin, she’s sensitive.” says Hannah from behind.
“Well…Sorry, but
I had too because she made me run!” replies Jeanne in her mocking tone.
“What? Could you
repeat that again?” leaning closer to Jeanne’s face, Hannah stare her like an
owl.
“H-Hey guys,
come on. Don’t fight, we’re friends right? Friends don’t fight…Or I think
so…But come on, this is a public place. Ring a bell?” says Airin as she taps
gently on both Jeanne’s and Hannah’s shoulder from behind and give them her
wide smile.
“…Fine…” utters
Hannah under her breath as she pats Airin’s hand and smile weakly at her.
“Good! Now,
let’s have a seat under that fine and beautiful tree over there~!” says Airin
as she grabs Hannah’s hand and drag her up to a small green grassy hill and
lies down on top of it, giggling innocently.
“I think she’s
high.” laughs Manda and joins Airin.
“I think we all
are~!” shouts Hannah and join the others as Jeanne just stare at them with
emptiness in her eyes.
“Hey guys, I
think I need to go home. I forgot that I had to do something today. I’ll see
you later Airin.” utter Jeanne almost like a whisper as she waves at Airin and
runs off without waiting for the reply.
“Hey J-Jeanne
wait!” shouts Airin as she quickly gets up into her sitting position, trying to
see where Jeanne went from the high place.
“Hey Airin, it’s
fine. I think she needs some time alone with herself for a moment. You know
girls…” snorts Manda and pats Airin on her back gently, giving her a wink.
“…Are you trying
to hit me? Because I can do better~” replies Airin, holding Manda’s hand and
blink like a doll. She then pinches Manda’s cheeks and giggling.
“Hey!” laughs Manda as she rubs her cheeks.
After hours on
chattering with each other, Airin stare up at the clear blue sky and starts to
drift into her imagination.
“Hey, did you
heard about the weird news?” ask Manda as she sits up and lay back behind the
tree.
“About the weird
disease thing?” replies Hannah as she turns her head to Manda, staring at her
with her bright chocolate eyes.
“Yeah, how about
you Airin, did you heard it too?” ask Manda again, looking at Airin’s gazing
face.
Airin only stare
up at the skies, grinning and giggles wondering nothing else than her own
imaginary world.
Hannah quickly
turns her look to Airin as she hears giggling. “Earth to Airin, are you there?
Where’s the controller behind the wheels?” jokes Hannah as she waves her hand
side to side in front of Airin’s face, waiting for the usual respond.
“Nine million
nine hundred, huh what?” replies Airin, looking to her left and right as she
looks down on Hannah, who is lying on the grassy ground.
“Seriously…?
Anyway, Manda asked you a question just now.” says Hannah, playing with her
hair.
“And that is?”
lifting her eyebrow, Airin stare at Manda’s face.
“Have you heard
about the weird news?” ask Manda again, giving a smile to Airin.
“Uh…Let see
now…Oh yes, I did heard it! It was about some kind of disease that had infected
the population of the New England. Am I on the right train here?” replies Airin
blinking, putting on her blur face on.
“Yes! That’s the
one!” laughs Hannah saying to Airin as she gives a smile.
“Oh…Okay? So?”
ask Airin, lifting up her eyebrow with confusion on her face.
“Well…What do
you think about it? Is it real...Or fake?” says Manda, looking at both Airin
and Hannah.
“Um…I think it
is real?” replies Airin doubly.
“No…I think it
is fake.” replies Hannah another as she shakes her head gently saying no.
“Why? Can you
give me a reason?” ask Manda again as she stares at the grass beneath her.
“Well I
think…Something is happening at there so…That’s my answer~” replies Airin
plainly as she shrugs her shoulders and stare up at the sky once again.
“Really now, I
think it is fake because it is not real…So it is fake…Who knows maybe that was
a trick show or something?” replies Hannah her answer, looking at Airin as she
grins like a winner.
Manda thought
for a moment after hearing both of her friends’ answers and just stare at the
grass for a long time.
“Hello? Manda,
are you there?” ask Airin waving her hand in front of Manda’s face.
“Huh, oh…Um,
what time is it already?” ask Manda blinking. Airin only shakes her head and
shrug.
“Hannah, do you
have a watch with you?” ask Airin, yawning lazily like a cat.
“Yeah I do, now
it is 3:30. Still a bit early I think.” says Hannah as she glance at her watch.
“God that is
still early!” grumbles Airin as she scratches her head gently. Thinking on how
they all can pass the time together, an idea pops out from Airin’s mind as she
grins like a Cheshire cat.
“What is the
bloody hell with that grin of yours?” laughs Manda as she points out to Airin’s
face.
“I’ve got an
idea. How about you both go to my house to get some snacks or maybe we could
play games together?” ask Airin, playing with her fingers waiting for the
answer from her friends.
“Hmm…I think
that’s a good idea. I mean if we just sit around here all day long, we are like
wasting our time on…Nothing!” replies Manda in agreement. Hannah only nods as
she stands up and dusts away the sticky grasses off her light brown jeans.
“That’s the
spirit~!” cheers Airin as she stands up and pats off the dirt on her black
tight jeans.
“Um guys, I
think I need a little help on the standing…” chuckles Manda, holding out both
of her hands waiting to be grab.
Airin grip on
both of Manda’s hands as she full her with all her strength while Hannah just
stand there and watch, waiting for something to happen next.
Airin wipe the
sweat off from her forehead with her palm as she slides down the hill like a
child, as for Hannah and Manda they walk down from the hill laughing.
When all of them
reach down the hill, Airin gets up from the grassy ground pats off the dirt
from her jeans as she stares up at both of her friends.
“Next time
Airin, try rolling for instant.” laughs Hannah as she pats on Manda’s back.
“If I do that,
then I’ll roll like a ball…Wee~” replies Airin, giggling as she walks towards
to the park’s entrance.
“I’ll bet she’s
going to do that someday.” whisper Manda to Hannah as they both laugh and
giggle like maniacs.
